The tournament was won by the United States, earning their seventh World Championship title. The 2017 IIHF World Championship Final was played at Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, on 21 May 2017. Teams representing Sweden and Canada competed for the title of World Champion in ice hockey. The first period of the game was scoreless. Sweden took the lead towards the end of the second period.
